Breakthrough in Stem Cell Research May Help Infertile Women

Stem cells from female mice have been used to create an egg, according to researchers in China.

Shanghai Jiao Tong University researchers hope this new finding will help them better address issues of female infertility.

The scientists in the University’s school of life science and biotechnology cultured the cells for over six months and transplanted them into the ovaries of infertile female mice. They say 80% of theses female mice were able to have babies after mating.
