In Australia during a Supreme Court hearing, murder charges against a teenager accused of killing her sexually abusive stepfather have been dropped.
The director of public prosecution dropped the charges against the girl after the case prosecutor called upon a legal procedure known as “Nolle Prosequi.”
The prosecutor applied to have charges dropped and argued that the no reasonable jury would convict the young girl of murder.
Police found almost ten thousand pictures of sexual intercourse and sex acts taken by the stepfather during the four years of abuse.
During the committal hearing several people said they strongly suspected the stepfather was raping the girl.
The girl’s mother, who was working night shifts, accused her husband of “fucking” her daughter but he dismissed it.
Two former school friends say they spoke to administrators about their suspicions, but never knew of any action being taken.
