Nine Developers won exclusivity agreements to develop ten wind farm sites off the coast of Scotland expected to generate more than 6GW of power.
The Scottish Government’s environmental assessment (SEA) for offshore wind within Scottish
territorial waters will be complete by January 2010. Pending the assessment, the developers will begin construction and be paid.
The project is part of round three of Scotland’s off shore wind program with aims to connect 25GW of offshore wind generation by 2020. The cost of connecting the third round of offshore wind farms to the national grid is estimated at around 10 billion pounds.
